10/8/2008 12:00 AMForest Lake Times Enrollment is leveling off in ISD 831, the school board learned last week. One month into the new school year, the ISD 831 enrollment is now at 7044 students in grades K-12, the administration reported on Thursday, Oct. 2. The head count was taken on September 25. The new head count is a decrease of 71 students from the head count on September 4. Decreases are seen in all levels except the senior high ALC program. The big drop comes at the secondary level where it is common to see an enrollment dip as the school year continues. The most recent student count in grades 10-12 recorded 1704 students. That’s a decrease of 62 students from the September 4 student count. Slight decreases were recorded at the elementary and junior high school levels. A total of 3565 students were counted at the elementary level compared to 3569 four weeks earlier, a decrease of four students. At grades 7-9, the September 25 student count was 1686 students or five fewer than the 1691students who were counted on September 4. Holding its own was the senior high ALC program. The alternative school program has held steady with 89 students. http://forestlaketimes.com/content/view/1730/43/ | ||||||||||||||||||||||
