9/15/2006 12:00 AMLetters to the Editor, Pioneer Press So, Minnesota's governor now wants to guarantee that 70 percent of Minnesota's education tax dollars go directly into the classroom, as opposed to what he calls the "bureaucracy." Is there an educational outcome that he perceives this will accomplish? If so, I would like him to tell me what it is. For the past 10 years, at least, Minnesota and Wisconsin high school students have finished first and second in the American College Testing program. I feel quite certain that if high school students in Texas had done so, that man in the White House would be endlessly crowing about it. Instead of promoting political ads that seem to emphasize the negatives, perhaps a pat on the back for Minnesota public schoolteachers is in order.
